Paragon Education is working with a supportive school in the Worcester area to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant with SEMH experience. This role involves supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, helping them remain engaged with learning and develop positive behaviours within the classroom.
The school is looking for a patient, resilient and proactive individual who can provide consistent support and build strong relationships with pupils who may face barriers to learning.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
- Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities
- Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
- Encouraging positive engagement with learning
- Helping pupils work towards individual learning and behavioural targets
- Contributing to a safe and supportive classroom environment
Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs
- A calm, patient and resilient approach
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
- Relevant TA qualification desirable but not essential
