SEND & SEMH Teaching Assistants Primary – Kidderminster

Location: Kidderminster and surrounding areas

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Paragon Education is working closely with a number of primary, secondary, and specialist schools across Kidderminster to recruit at least 10 experienced or aspiring Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEND and SEMH needs. These roles are available for a September 2025 start, with both supply and long-term or permanent options depending on your availability and preferences.

About the Role:

As a SEND or SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to support children who require additional help to access learning and thrive in a school setting. You may work one-to-one or with small groups of pupils with a range of needs including autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, sensory needs, and behavioural or emotional challenges.

Your Responsibilities May Include:

• Supporting pupils with EHCPs or targeted intervention plans
• De-escalating challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner
• Building positive relationships with children who may have experienced trauma or instability
• Using a range of strategies to support emotional regulation and social development
• Collaborating effectively with school staff, families and external agencies

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND or SEMH (in schools, care, or similar settings)
• A patient, resilient and consistent approach to behaviour and emotional support
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) is desirable but not essential
• Flexibility to adapt to the specific needs of each child and school environment
