We are seeking at least 10 teachers who are confident in supporting children and young people with a range of special educational needs and social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Whether you are an experienced SEND professional or an ECT looking to develop in this rewarding field, we have a variety of opportunities available – including both supply and permanent placements.

About the Role:

As a SEND or SEMH Teacher, you will be supporting pupils who may require highly personalised approaches to learning, emotional support and differentiated strategies. The roles are available across specialist provisions, alternative provisions, and mainstream settings with dedicated SEND units.

You may be teaching a small class or working on a one-to-one or outreach basis depending on the placement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing classroom behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
  • Liaising closely with teaching assistants, parents, therapists and other professionals
  • Creating a safe and inclusive environment that enables vulnerable learners to succeed
  • Monitoring progress and contributing to reviews and support plans

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience in a SEND, SEMH, PRU or alternative provision setting (or a strong desire to transition into this area)
  • A nurturing, calm, and adaptable teaching style
  • Excellent behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches, autism strategies or attachment-aware teaching (training can be provided)

Why Work With Paragon Education?
