A welcoming primary school in Sutton Coldfield is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils within their Enhanced Learning Provision.

This role involves working closely with children who have complex communication and learning needs, helping to create a calm, structured, and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils with complex SEND needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Use visual timetables, Makaton, communication boards, and sensory strategies
• Assist the class teacher with tailored learning activities
• Promote communication, emotional regulation, and independence
• Support pupils using approaches such as Attention Autism and Intensive Interaction
• Contribute towards EHCP targets and pupil progress

Requirements

• Experience working with children with SEND needs preferred
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• Calm, patient, and adaptable approach
• Knowledge of AAC, sensory circuits, or visual communication strategies desirable
• Previous primary school experience advantageous
