Overview

A secondary school in Lichfield is seeking a committed and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join its team from September 2026. The role is suitable for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced practitioners with a strong subject background and a clear approach to delivering engaging, high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 desirable but not essential).

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver structured, engaging Science lessons aligned with the national curriculum

Teach across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at KS3 and KS4

Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback

Maintain a positive and disciplined classroom environment

Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development

Participate in school-wide initiatives, meetings, and CPD

Candidate Profile:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

Degree in a Science-related discipline

Strong subject knowledge across the Science curriculum

Effective classroom management and communication skills

Commitment to student achievement and progression

Ability to contribute to a collaborative department

Desirable:

Experience teaching KS5 (A-Level)

Familiarity with current GCSE specifications

Evidence of raising attainment
